MISSION STATEMENT

LITTLE LAMB CHILDREN’S CENTER PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE AN ENHANCED CHILD CENTERED LEARNING PROGRAM WHERE A CHILD CAN FEEL SECURE, HAPPY, AND RELAXED AND IN WHICH PARENTS CAN BE CONFIDENT AND TRUSTING OF THE CARE THEIR CHILDREN RECEIVE.

OBJECTIVES

To provide children with a caring, safe, happy, relaxed, and developmentally appropriate environment.

To provide an atmosphere for growth – physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually – by encouraging children to be curious, ask questions, and discover their own ideas and responses to their world.

To broaden the world and opportunities of the children through the introduction and manipulation of new ideas and objects.

To provide a well-rounded daily schedule which will include:

Child-directed free play – indoors and outdoors

Organized activities such as songs, stories, and games

Many opportunities to explore, create, and be successful

Learning and practicing self-help skills

Relaxed eating in a family style atmosphere

Rest and relaxation

To provide daily role models for the children through the selection and continual training of dedicated teachers and staff.

To create a partnership with the children and their families and encourage parents to be the best advocates for their children by participating in the program and freely communicating with the centers teachers and staff.

To create the most positive and respectful environment possible to enhance the individuality of each child and lead to feelings of greater self-worth (self-esteem). This includes monitoring the environment and program to ensure all children have many successes on a daily basis.

To work cooperatively with educational programs in child development and early childhood education to enrich the experience of students enrolled in these programs.
